Trojan Wars: Team Conrad
Written by Alesha Z.
Let’s cut the nonsense. Jeremiah might have abs and golden retriever energy, but he also has wandering lips. Yes — he cheated. And sorry, but if your “soulmate” can’t stay loyal, is he really endgame? Exactly. Meanwhile, Conrad Fisher has been silently carrying the weight of his love for Belly like the ocean — unpredictable, powerful, and endless. Jeremiah’s love? More like a pool: shallow, easy, and nice for a quick dip, but nothing you can drown in.
Conrad isn’t perfect, and that’s what makes him real. He’s moody, complicated, and sometimes hard to read, but let’s not pretend Belly didn’t fall in love with him first. He sees her. He remembers the small, tiny things that no one else does. Remember when she craved Sour Patch Kids? Conrad knew. He always knew. He doesn’t just pay attention — he memorizes. That’s not puppy love, that’s devotion.
Also, let’s not forget the Laurel moment. Conrad convinced Belly’s mom to go to the wedding, even though it broke his own heart — because her happiness mattered to him more than his own pain. That’s maturity. That’s love that costs something. Jeremiah? He’s too busy throwing tantrums like he’s auditioning to star in the story of We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and acting like a boy when Belly deserves a man.
Taylor Swift once said, “This love is good, this love is bad, this love is alive back from the dead.” If that doesn’t scream Conrad Fisher, I don’t know what does. His love doesn’t fade, doesn’t falter, doesn’t take the easy way out. Jeremiah might be the summer fling, but Conrad is the forever kind of love. He’s the one you write poetry about, the one who shows up even when it hurts, the one who makes every lyric in Lover feel like it was written for you.
When it comes down to choosing between the kiddie pool and the ocean, the answer is obvious. Jeremiah can keep his Swedish Fish. Conrad will always bring the Sour Patch Kids — sweet, sour, unforgettable.
Call it fate, call it chaos, call it love —but Conrad Fisher? Loving him was red.
